Hi @nucleogenesis, as there was already a thread about manually sorting cards I have merged your request with this one.
As stated above, this is definitely still something we want to add. There is also this thread which although specifically about the sidebar goes into a little more detail behind the limitations and considerations we are making for manual sorting/ordering, which also apply in this more general case.
We will keep this thread updated as we work on such a feature.
