Good question, I’ve just written up a quick guide on how to use deeplinks and published it on the Help Center.
Re. Windows, yes you’re totally right it has unreliable behaviour, there’s an existing report open here. We’ve totally rebuilt these for 3.1 so moving forward they will be a lot more reliable across all platforms – looking forward to sharing this with you very soon.
