So actually the new editor listed on the shortlist of planned features has already been implemented as of the 2.0 release which introduced our new ‘Super Editor’. Before 2.0, when this shortlist of planned features was written, we were using a simple textarea – which had absolutely no syntax highlighting whatsover and was just plain text. But thanks for chiming in @maurelius, great to see you reading our old posts!
In the end, we decided to build a WYSIWYM editor rather than WYSIWYG editor for a bunch of reasons. With the introduction with this editor, we’ve been able to greatly improve the ‘live preview’ while retaining the Markdown marks for easier editing, with more in the pipeline such as better image support in edit mode. Is there anything particular you’d like improved @rhapsody?
