Archiving a note on mobile

Hello,

I’ve tried and failed to archive a card and in fact set visibility to invisible but it’s still showing under home despite telling the filter to only show visible cards so there must be something overriding that somewhere.

Is there a reason for not strictly having an archive option despite an archive help article being labeled as such? Is this something coming to the next big update?

Hi @G98Productive,

Archiving only hides a card within a parent view, not within Home. Invisible is used for global hiding of cards. If you could share some screenshots of what’s going wrong for you that would be very helpful

Sure, I wasn’t sure if I was missing a simple archive card button.

Ive created a test card in my books card

As you can see I’m missing archive but if I select invisible it doesn’t actually hide it.

Think I’m being daft here!

You can archive a card within a parent by following the example recording in the Help Article you shared earlier. Edit a card, click on the parent you want to archive it in and then tap “Archive”, and then finish the card to apply the changes.

Granted this is a tad involved, and we’re looking into streamlining this process in the future. The challenge is that you can archive cards in some parent cards and not others.

Let me know how you get on, and if you need additional help.

Hello, managed on the linux app eventually but took a lot of clicking around to figure it out and even now I am none the wiser! Hoping the new update clarifies things in that regard

Thank you!

There is no singular “archive card” button because archival is related to parents. Since cards can have multiple parents, the interaction by necessity needs to be specific to a certain parent, not general to a card.
