Faster linking with [[

Ah gotcha, you’re totally right. I was just considering the use case of creating new links from typing, not from existing text.

I’ve made a note for us improve this behaviour in a subsequent release. So if an additional space character won’t be added if already present.

Even with the limit I find the jumping around kind of jarring to be honest  Not the end of the world, the addition brought a much better flow for me, but would be nice to see some improved approach here

Hi @fuzzy.beach, can you provide a gif of what you find jarring? Not sure I’m following here. Happy to look into improving this flow further.

@tobias, I was referencing the jumping between the Link objects created with [[, using the autocomplete and the raw markdown version of those. It’s nice to be able to re-alias these by changing the text in the square brackets, but the jump around when moving the cursor on the keyboard is not so nice

Thanks for the follow up @fuzzy.beach. This is still much better than the previous card links where we always displayed the UUID’s, but I can understand how’d you want this to further improve.

We could look into overriding the Alt ← / → keys so they jump to the other side of the link? No guarantees on this, as I haven’t look into how feasible that is, but would that work for you?

Yeah, It’s definitely nicer not seeing the uuid, the jumps are not an easy problem to solve either.

I think that could work! Assuming one could still alter the link alias name somehow.

Aha, I edited my previous post so it’s clearer. The idea’s is that you just don’t hold down Alt to edit the link  (still no guarantees we will be able to modify this though)
