Free thoughts in SN?

During the last year, I’ve been using SN to organize all my knowledge – and it has been a fantastic experience. SN is truly impressive!

However, I’ve noticed two important issues in my workflow:

  1. When can I go back to my cards? One of the most persistent challenges in note-taking is that notes often end up in the “bin of time.” While I’m reading, I’m also taking notes, but it’s rare that I return to them for review. Considering the importance of retrieval practice, this becomes a significant problem. A good solution for SN would be some form of spaced repetition – similar to what Readwise offers.
  2. Supernotes has a problem – but who is perfect? One limitation is a certain rigidity. For example, in Heptabase, we can organize notes on a whiteboard, freely drawing connections and viewing our cards in a more holistic perspective. This is fantastic because it mimics our natural way of thinking. I don’t have a definitive answer for SN, but introducing a kind of whiteboard feature to facilitate connections between cards would be fantastic.

What do you think, friends?

Hi @carlosaraujox,

Spaced Repetition will be arriving in Supernotes 3.2, looking forward to sharing that with you.

A Tabletop / Whiteboard View has been suggested a few times, we’re aware that our notecards lend themselves well to a freeform view, and it’s something we’re open to supporting in the future
