Sorry if this is a dumb question. How do you type / without it trying to insert singing into a card?
Hi Fred,
That’s not a dumb question at all. We’ve included quite a few different ways to escape this mechanic, to create a delicate balance where it’s very quick to add other elements to a card but also easy to type /. Here’s what we have currently:
- Press Esc immediately after typing / to close the Universal Coupler and insert the character back into the card (what we call the add element menu that pops up)
- Type Space immediately after / to cancel the Universal Coupler and return back into the body of the card. So if you are used to typing
this/that
you could usethis / that
. - Type another / immediately after / to cancel the Universal Coupler and return back into the body of a card → useful for writing URLs.
Finally you can also change this hotkey to be \ if you use that less. I hope that helps, but there is definitely room for us to improve this!
Sweet. Perfect. Thanks for the response.
First place I looked was the cheat sheet. Might be able to add one of those options to the cheat sheet. Either way thanks again.
That’s what we are here for. And good thinking!
We are planning on setting a few days aside next month to completely overhaul our Documentation as with the launch of Supernotes 2 a lot has changed / improved! Hopefully that will do the trick
Not to give you guys a big head. But very impressed so far.
Thanks Fred, we really appreciate it. It makes a big difference to hear that.
