Interact Mode: Tagging with #, Parent with >>, and Target Date Editing

Hey Supernotes team! I’ve been using Supernotes for a short while now and really appreciate the active community and developers. I have a few ideas that might make the “Interact Mode” even better for users like me.

Description:

  • When tagging, users cannot type “tag” to quickly access the “add/remove” tag function, nor can they use the “#” prefix.
  • Similarly, when adding or removing a card’s parent, there is no quick way to access this function.

Requested Enhancements:

  1. Tagging and Parent Management with a Prefix:

    • Allow prefix # in Interact Mode to mean “add tag” or “remove tag”.
    • Allow prefix >> in Interact Mode to mean “add” or “remove” parent.
    • These ideas are inspired by VSCode’s command bar and could make tagging and managing parent much quicker and easier.
  2. Target Date Editing:

    • Add the ability to edit the target date in Interact Mode.
    • Right now, users can only reset the target date. Being able to edit it would be super helpful.

Just some thoughts that I hope you find helpful. Thanks for considering these ideas!

Hi @tomaxapp,

Some great points here! Yes we’re looking into ways of making the “Interact with…” menu faster, that align with the suggestions you’ve mentioned. We will see what we can do.

Also you can currently add targeted dates, just type a valid date and the option will appear (it’s not there unless there’s a date match), like so:

Oh! thanks for the tip about setting the target date!
