Is this a wise way of using for bible study?

I’m starting with the core verses, I split them into child cards and expand on them there and then research any further topics on separate cards linking those things in.

Ie my sermon prep is on Exodus so I have the core verses in one card, then then split by theme as child cards. Things I need to research like
Feast of tabernacles
Feast of harvest
These then on separate child cards to the theme child cards (so two levels deep) and then linked into the theme study cards with note links.

Does that sound a wise way or am I creating too many cards and it will get messy?

You could make use of footnotes to include additional information/references or notes? Could also use collections to group these notes based on each book of the Bible?
