Keyboard shortcut to access a modified Tasks / Thoughts Collection isn't working

Please follow the following template when posting a bug, make sure you’ve searched the bug reports category to avoid any duplicates!

Description of the bug
Keyboard shortcut to the Tasks collection is not working once modified.

Device, App & Version
Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.2 (Apple Silicon) - Macbook Air M2

Steps to reproduce

  • Rename “Tasks” collection to something else - e.g. “Tasks Collection”

Notice that keyboard shortcut to go to Tasks (Cmd + Shift + A) does not work anymore.

Things I’ve tried

  • Renaming the the collection back to “Tasks” does not resolve this.
  • I also tried recreating the collection from here Custom Collections | Supernotes Help. That did not work either.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the app on Mac OS
  • Refreshed the app

Additional Notes
I noticed that there is previous post about this here - Tasks / Thoughts custom collection keyboard shortcuts not responding once modified

It’d be great to be able to resolve this (say by looking for a collection called “Tasks” or allowing the user to specify a particular custom collection as the “Tasks” collection). At the moment, I am unable to quickly jump to my tasks simply because I renamed that collection once.

Hi @ramkumar, welcome to the Supernotes Community!

Thanks for the in-depth bug report. It (should be) a simple fix, just right click on your modified Tasks collection and Delete it. Then open the New Collection creator menu and click on “Tasks”. This will load the original preset and the Open Task Collection keyboard shortcut will work again.

We’re aware that it feels a bit strange that shortcuts will stop working once modifying a collection, but that’s required as you could modify the collection to be something entirely different. And then all the help tips to open “Tasks Collection” won’t be relevant anymore.

Our plan for the future is to add support for Custom Keyboard Shortcuts for all keybindings, so you can edit / assign new shortcuts to any Custom Collection.

Ah thanks, that’s the one way I did not re-create the collection :face_with_peeking_eye: . I did what you suggested and that fixed it, thanks!

Totally understand why the shortcut would stop working - thanks for the help to resolve it!

No problem, that’s what we’re here for. Since it’s not strictly a bug, I’ve just renamed this and moved it to the Community Support category so it hopefully helps others in the future.
