Refocus card in edit mode after dismissing parent/tag/etc coupler

App version 3.2.1. iOS version 18.6.2. iPhone 15 Pro.

  1. Start editing a card.
  2. Press the + button above the keyboard to modify the card.
  3. Select “> Parent”.
  4. Tap outside of the search dialog, dismissing it.

Expected behavior:
The dialog goes away, and the card becomes focused with the keyboard still open.

Actual behavior:
The keyboard is dismissed, with the card remaining fully expanded in edit mode. Have to tap into the card to keep editing, or tap the Finish/Cancel buttons to leave editing mode.

Note: This same behavior seems to occur for other dialogs, such as adding a tag. Also this behavior does not occur if the “cancel” button in the dialog is pressed until it is dismissed. Only when tapping outside the dialog is when this happens. If you do press the cancel button, the cursor might not be in view and you might have to scroll manually to it.

Hi @FreezerburnV,

Thanks for the feedback! This should be pretty simple to add since we already refocus when you confirm a selection in a tag/parent etc. coupler. I’ve modified this to be a feature request, and marked it as in development – hopefully we’ll get something out soon for you.

Something I should have put in the original post: The reported behavior is inconsistent with the behavior when you open the coupler and don’t select anything in it such as adding a tag or parent. When you don’t select anything it will refocus on the card if you tap outside the coupler to dismiss it (though the cursor might not be visible since y’all don’t do any scrolling as mentioned in the other post).
