Here I’m told that:
Thoughts are cards which don’t satisfy the following statement:
title AND content AND (parents OR children)
Does that mean my aim should be to make every card a parent or a child?

Hi @dmsharpe,
I’m new here and do things a bit differently, but one of the strengths of SN is that nothing is imposed. You can use parent/child relationships to build hierarchies and add tagging on top of that… or not. It’s up to you.
I guess you have to experiment to find the best way to structure your notes for your own use. The community seems to be very helpful, so I’m sure you’ll get help.
On my side ‘Thoughts’ is called ‘Inbox’ and contains cards that are not ‘Priority’ (= not in the outline) and have no child and no parent. But maybe I’ll go back to ‘Thoughts’ in the future…
What I do is add a tag called “root” to cards that might have children in the future but currently don’t, and then filter them out from my “Thoughts” collection. I also use a tag called “ignore-from-thoughts” for cards I want to exclude from “Thoughts.”
I encountered a similar issue with the “Tasks” collection, so I also use a tag called “ignore-from-task” for that.
