Workflow tips for students

hey all!

i was wondering if someone could provide some tips on how best to use supernote for a student for organising school work in general?

i’m open to any systems / suggestions that people may have. i’ve used upnotes and supernote and im edging towards supernote but im just struggling to grasp how to organise everything with card hierarchies and linking cards and using collections properly even after watching some of the tutorials (they’ve all been very useful though)

So, this is how I do it, and obviously there are many other ways. But, for my ADHD addled brain, this is what works best for me.

I have a parent card called School. Below that is what class. Inside of the class I have the weeks, inside of that is the assignments. I then fill in what I want/need from there. Since I have to do papers and discussion posts, I keep them in here, at least for posterity, in case I need to work on them or think of a concept I need to look at later.

Add in a tag of #school and then a tag of #<className>.

So far, this has been working for me.

okay i see, thats really useful thank you

basically what i have now is a breakdown of all my courses, and ive broken down the courses by module, and im just adding class notes based on what topic they cover but im looking for alternatives since thats a lot of cards to manage, so thank you for your response it means a lot  the week by week card thing looks really good

im curious though, what have you been doing in terms of collections? how do you use them?

So I kind of have two things.

The first is my main School card is a parent in the outline.

The other is a collection that calls all top level parent cards that I use as a dashboard of sorts.

i really like the idea of having the main ‘dashboard’ which calls the top level cards!

thank you so much for your help

Yeah no worries!

I can either drop you the json for it, or ask AI for a collection of top level cards. Honestly it’s been my favorite change compared to the outline.

100%, then adding links to any courses within a school card to access them easier. luckily the AI made it work very well

I think typically the top level items would be your subjects so using one card as a placeholder for say biology or maths and then any cards related to each topic would be nested underneath that top level card. Thats how I would be using that for different subjects.
