I don’t know if this is something too specific for my use-case, but personally I like having really atomic notes. Because of that, some of my tasks are independent notes, for example:
(the note is written in portuguese, the title is: “Install Weasy Oasis” and the contents are a few steps for it, being: “Buy all the hardware needed for it” and. “Install it”)
For some, it is useful to have a larger task name and multiple checkboxes inside (like the example), but for some I have a single step to complete the task
I think it would be great to have a specific note type that would tag a given note as a task, in a way that after I complete it would automatically turned as an invisible note
It sounds a lot like you’d like automation, not just for this unique use case but in general for a few different workflows. If a card satisfies A, do B. This topic has come up a few times over the years (Automation, Automated organization).
Previously our stance has been that we’re focused on improving our API, since you can already use that to automate all these flows with Pipedream, and other integrations. However, we’re happy to re-look into this, and I’ve made a note for us to discuss this internally. In the meantime, I’ve modified the title to more accurate reflect this (let me know if this is ok, and accurately reflects what you were thinking!)
Indeed, that makes sense! If I could automate to whenever all checkboxes of a given notes are checked, it automatically marked that note as invisible it would solve what I need
Do you happen to know if that is already possible with Pipedream?
So technically yes, you can do this already. However it requires using our API’s Webhooks which we will still want to improve before recommending for general use. Since currently webhooks will send everything to Pipedream not just the stuff you want to monitor.
I’ve bumped up the priority for us to do improve this. We will see what we can do.
In the meantime I’ve created a custom collection preset for you that shows you only completed tasks:
You can then periodically open this, press Ctrl / CmdA to select all cards, then Ctrl / Cmdi to interact with all of them and then type “Make Invisible” to make them all invisible.
