Passkey Support

As I’m sure we can all agree, our notes are ‘supernotes’ important! Sorry for the pun :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I don’t know whether the implementation of passkeys would be possible, but it is a more secure and easier method of accessing our online accounts, so I feel it should be considered.

I’d rather have MFA support first. PassKeys are a mess, especially when using multiple devices to access the same account. It would also require the ability to disable password login completely (or else it would defeat the entire security provided by passkeys), which would introduce complexity adding additional devices to access SuperNotes.

Alternatively, SuperNotes could opt for authentication through third-parties (Google, Facebook, Apple). UpNote uses this system.

Passkeys are only messy because of how they’re implemented between service providers. For example, some services will still require your username and password and not give you the option to use your passkey; or still require your password when using a passkey. Also, you don’t need to disable your password to use passkeys, again, this is something unique to how they have been implemented.

While passkeys are still a newer form of authentication, they are future proof, it just comes down to slow adoption within the industry.
