Rename tag all at once

Yes, this is actually possible now! There is no one-click-to-rename feature, but with multi-edit you can now add a tag (the new name) and then remove the old tag. We actually like this better than some sort of rename flow as it forces you to think about which cards exactly you are changing tags on, which we think is important.

The exact flow is:

  1. go to Home
  2. filter cards by the tag you want to rename
  3. CMD/CTRLA to select all filtered cards with the tag (assuming Multi-edit is enabled in feature preview preferences)
  4. Click “modify” button (or press CMD/CTRLK) and add the new tag name to all cards
  5. Confirm your changes
  6. Click modify again and go down to the section of that has tag removal (added in SN 2.4.3) and remove the old tag name.
  7. Confirm your changes

While this does seem like a lot of steps, the flexibility of this flow is great (you can de-select certain cards if you don’t want to “rename” their tags and other such behaviors), so this is what we decided to go with.
