Having older cards resurfaced every now and then boosts the value of your knowledge base as a whole. In supernotes, this can be achieved by sorting the view by random.
For that reason, I did switch between sort modes random and recent quite a bit, as I find recent super useful, also. Which is a bit cumbersome, to be honest. So, with custom collections available I came up with a new approach:
Go to Home and clear filters
Create a new collection by copying current view
Name that collection Serendipity
Sort by random
I can now switch between Home, which is sorted by Recent, and Serendipity with a few clicks saved. At this, the sort settings will persist.
@tobias , is there a way to filter out cards that have been edited less than 7 days ago for example? I tried to look in the docs but couldnāt find this.
Can you check if āSort byā is matched to ārandomā - I guess there could be the problem. When I add it from the link above the sort by is matched to recent.
So we donāt actually store your view or sort order as part of the collection preset. To keep things simple we only share the name, description, icon and filters.
Above I just shared the metadata for Serendipity but I guess thatās also a little confusing that you need to change your sort afterwards. Would you like us to improve this so that sort order is also added? However as sort is configurable and not stored on collections, after import if you change the sort order on a Collection then that sort order will be lost.
