As a member of the Supernotes Community, I’d like to reflect on the recent discussions around AI features. Based on the community feedback and my personal experience, I feel there’s a need to align our thoughts and propose a structured way forward for AI integration. Below, I summarize key points from the discussion and share some ideas on how we can collaboratively shape this future.
The recent forum debate “AI Chat with Notes - Feature Requests” has revealed a few common threads:
- Efficiency and Transparency: Many users agree that AI must be efficient, economical, and transparent. However, I am concerned about the unpredictability of AI features and their impact on productivity.
- Cost Implications: Users like @wldh have raised concerns about the potential increase in subscription fees if AI features are implemented. A flexible billing model, where users can opt out of AI, might address these concerns.
- Usage Divide: There’s also a clear divide in AI usage. While some users, such as @docfips, don’t feel the need for AI, others, like myself, heavily rely on it for creative projects.
- Platform Vision: @tobias and the blog post by @connor indicate that AI is not currently a priority for Supernotes. However, they remain open to future possibilities.
Personally, I’ve found AI (specifically Vision) crucial for writing. Despite feeling constrained by usage limits, I appreciate how Vision helps me as a non-native English speaker. This shows the potential for AI within Supernotes, especially for power-users.
Given these diverse perspectives, I propose the creation of a dedicated AI discussion section within the Supernotes community. This space could host and facilitate collaborative testing of AI features and help align them with the core values of privacy, simplicity, and stability that make Supernotes unique.
Let’s continue developing both human and artificial intelligence within the platform, ensuring that any AI enhancements are thoughtfully and carefully integrated.
