Thank you to everyone here on the Community, who’ve been part of this journey with us. We’ve been listening to your feedback and have made a lot of changes to make Supernotes better for everyone. We’re slowly announcing this out across all our platforms, but as dedicated community members you’re hearing about it here first. 3.2 has been thoroughly tested by us & our testers – however since there’s a lot of new features and changes, do let us know if you find any issues and we’ll get them fixed as soon as possible.

Also please share you thoughts below on the new features, we’d love to hear how you’re starting to use them.

3.2 Release Notes

Flashcards & Spaced Repetition

Your most requested community feature is finally here – Spaced Repetition. Add Horizontal rules / Spoilers in your notecards to let them turn them into Flashcards with this new layout. With an easy to use built-in FSRS spaced repetition algorithm helps you save time and only learn the things that really matter. We show you a simplified ‘Recall Probability’ score that let’s you get an quick understanding of how well you know any group of cards. And since Supernotes supports real-time collaboration and sharing you can quickly create decks of cards with your friends to help each other learn.

Table Layout

Quickly see all the cards in a certain area by switching to Table Layout. Unlike other tools this Table layout has been designed to be simple and efficient, adapting to your screen size. Quickly fill out missing icons, titles and tags or use the opt-in ‘Vision’ AI Superpower to suggest properties for you that you can click to confirm – learning them in the process.

Map Layout

A brand new feature for any notes app, Map Layout. It’s often easy to remember where you write a certain note, so we’ve given you a great way to find that note again using a Map. Opt-in to location sharing when you write new notecards and quickly assign addresses to existing ones. Unlimited members can explore all their cards on a Map, and filter by currently viewed cards – switching into Columns layout to explore them in more detail.

Columns Layout

We’ve combined List + Broadsheet Layout into a new ‘Columns’ layout – that’s faster, simpler and more powerful than before. Jump into the new layout with Alt / Option + C and then continue pressing the same keybinding to cycle between the columns. We’ve also brought out commonly used actions such as card display, sorting and more to live above the cards for easy access.

New Desktop Interface

We’ve given our Desktop app some love, simplifying the design by removing the vertical toolbar. Adding new Breadcrumb navigation in the Titlebar to help you quickly jump up your hierarchy. With new back and forward buttons as well so you don’t need to rely on using Cmd / Ctrl + ← / → . The Friends sidebar is back but it’s now on the right! Toggle between Pinned cards or Friends. You can now drag and drop card titles onto Friends to share cards with them. Or quickly tap on a Friend and filter by their cards.

Supernotes is the most modern, clean and polished note taking app out there - I stand by this. Not many note taking services can say that they support almost any platform, including AR! Supernotes has a plethora of features that are suitable for all types of users. The app and the platforms it supports, the website, marketing and the community driven collaboration between the developers is a true feat; something not hardly seen from large development teams, let alone just a team of two making it all happen! It’s so wonderful to be part of this community!

Wow. A beautiful app just became so much more beautiful. Amazing additions which I’ll enjoy exploring. Super work Connor and Tobias!

First of all, congratulations on this release.

However, I stumbled across two issues:

  • Although I have specified in the settings that my calendar should start on Monday, this setting is not saved and the calendar starts on Sunday. This is the case in both iOS 18.6 and Windows 11.
  • When clicking on “How does it work?” in Flashcard View and then on “Learn even more in Help Center,” I am sent to an error page.

Congrats on this release! :tada: This is fantastic and I can’t wait to use all the new features. A more compressed view of cards on the mobile app has been on my wishlist for a long time and the table view solves this wonderfully. The flashcards+spaced repetition feature also looks great.

Thanks for your hard work on this!

Looks wonderful! I like the changes made on desktop. Navigation, setting views, the sidebar, columns, the new table view — all excellent. It’ll take a while to explore it all. I have also encountered, by the way, the issue reported here where the week can’t be changed from starting on Monday rather than Sunday.

I really like the table layout. I use parent cards for “types” of data and tags to categorize cards based on topics across all data types. The table view allows we to see all of my cards filtered on a tag and then categorized by parent which gives a view of my data I was missing before. I also like how this new view was added into the UI; the interface remains sleek and intuitive. Great job!

Add ‘Remove Daily’ option to a card’s timesheet

Does this exist on the android app? I couldn’t find it.

I have notes in the Daily collection that do not have that option.

Absolutely great! Once again, my decision to rely on Supernotes has proven to be the right one. Even during the beta test of 3.2, it was a pleasure to follow the dialogue and get involved to make this software better and more useful. Supernotes gains in maturity with every release, and it is a clean and conscientiously crafted tool. Therefore, my sincere thanks to @tobias @connor.

Additional thought… I appreciate the new desktop keyboard shortcut for changing card size. Going a step further, it would be nice to have the system-wide default card size adjustable in Settings, Customize Behavior.

It’s not working here after updating to Mac OS Soquoia 15.6. Any tips on how to fix it? Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Hi @tacito.nb, what’s happening on macOS Sequoia? Any screenshots or further information would be very helpful. Feel free to get in touch with us directly using the in-app messenger ( ? ) > Chat with Us

I had trouble after the Mac update with all notes vanishing. Connor suggested logging out of Supernotes & logging back in. There was a delay, but then everything popped back in. Apparently it was a cache issue.

Got it working! Thanks for the tip about clearing the cache — that alone didn’t fix it, but it definitely pointed me in the right direction. Turned out it was something to do with authentication. I ended up installing the previous version first, then updating it, and after logging in again, it worked. Thanks again!

Incredible update! Thanks!
By the way, if im not mistaken, PDF upload support wil come in a 3.x update according to one of you. Do you have any news about that? Like, it will be in the next big update, next year or something like that? @tobias

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it @dlthunder :raising_hands: No ETA on PDF upload support at the moment, we know it’s something that many of you want

Amazing update! Im excited to test those new features, especially espaced repetition and tables layout. Do you have any ETA of when will it be available for everyone? As of now its only a preview feature. Thanks

Hi @SachiX9, thanks for the kind words! We’re still not entirely decided on how, when or if the new layouts will be available for free users. The layouts are in ‘feature preview’ mainly because they’re new and might need a little bit of improving not because it’s confirmed they’ll be made free in a future update. For now I recommend trialling a subscription for a month and see how you like them
